SURE@UCLA Cohort 2 – Summer 2024
The UCLA Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) Program at the UCLA Samueli School of Engineering launched during the summer of 2023. The purpose of the program, which is supported by Amazon, is to provide students who are typically underrepresented in engineering and computer science an opportunity to conduct innovative and cutting-edge research for 8 weeks on the UCLA campus. The program will admit 20 students and will run from June 22 – August 16, 2025.

Program Highlights
- Participate in 8-weeks of full-time summer research under the mentorship of world-renowned faculty and graduate students.
- $5,350 stipend
- On- campus housing, meals and access to UCLA recreation facilities
- Travel costs to and from Los Angeles, California
- Weekly professional development and graduate school workshops
- End-of-program research poster presentation
- Evening and weekend social activities
Eligibility Requirements
- Current Sophomore or Junior enrolled at an accredited college or university in the United States pursuing an engineering or computer science degree.
- U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or DACA recipient.
- GPA of 3.0 or higher is recommended.
- Have completed college-level introductory math and science coursework.
- Must participate in research and professional development workshops for 40 hours/week from June 22 to August 16, 2025.
- Must be available to live in the campus doorms full-time from June 22 to August 16, 2025.
