Five MESA Monroe students participated and won $10,000 last June 4, 2009 at the Annual Herndon Science Competition (Experimental and Essay Category), Aerospace Corporation at El Segundo. They put 3 projects together and made them into one large project, entitled "Rotational Energy Converted to X motion, Y motion and Wavelike Motion". These are the aerial car, MESA wind project and the SER--UCLA incentive award winner last year.The project won 1st place in the Experimental and Essay Category. This is Monroe's 4th year to win 1st place in the Aerospace Corporation Science Competition using JPL and MESA projects. The winners were Ramon Gomez, Sarah Nyenke, Estefani Marin, Isabelle Martinez and Jessica Javier. All of these kids are MESA and JPL winners. Each student received $2,000 dollars, and Ramon won an extra $1,000 for the Essay.
