The UCLA Center for Excellence in Engineering and Diversity (CEED) is looking for candidates to participate in its Research Intensive Series in Engineering for Underrepresented Populations (RISE-UP) program, during the Spring 2008 quarter. CEED students will have an opportunity to conduct research with a UCLA faculty member and receive a $1,000 stipend. The RISE-UP appointment for Spring quarter will be from March 31, 2008 to June 6, 2008. The minimum cumulative GPA required for RISE-UP Scholars appointed during the academic year (Fall, Winter & Spring quarters) is 3.0.

Sample copies of accepted Research Descriptions are provided for you and your PI, to use as a guide. Both you and your PI must sign the RISE-UP application, and no applications will be accepted without the accompanying Research Description. The deadline to apply for the Spring 2008 quarter is February 25, 2008.
