29th Annual NSBE Awards and Installation Banquet‏

Hey Everyone, The 29th Annual NSBE Awards and Installation banquet is going to be held this upcoming Saturday, May 17th, 2008 at the Embassy Suites Hotel LAX North near the Los Angeles International Airport.The event will start at 6pm. We will be collecting money this Tuesday at the general body meeting. We want to have a finalized head count by then so bring your money to the meeting!!Ticket prices are $35/member or $40/non-member. Rides to the venue will be provided. We would like all to attend to support our graduating seniors and install our new executive board! See you all at the meeting with your ticket money!!

= MATH 31B AEW: M W 12:00 - 12:50 with Sarah. Please check my door tomorrow morning for your permanent room assignment

= MATH 32A AEW: M 12:00 - 1:50 and W 1:00 - 1:50 with David in BH Penthouse

= MATH 32B AEW: M W 12:00 - 1:50 with Stella. Please check my door tomorrow morning for your permanent room assignment

= MATH 33A AEW: Tu Th 2:00 - 3:00 with Regis. Please check my door tomorrow morning for your permanent room assignment. NOTE --> There is an immediate opening in Joe Busch's Math 33A Lecture (MWF 9) that I strongly encourage you to switch into if you can.

= CHEM 20B AEW: Th 10:00 - 11:50 with Eric in BH Penthouse

= CHEM 30A AEW: Tu Th 12:00 - 1:50 with Cesar in BH Penthouse

= CS 31 AEW: Starts this Monday 5:00 - 6:00 with Israel Hsu. Please check my door by Thursday for your permanent room assignment. We need everyone to show up so we can arrange the best time frame to replace the Wednesday 5-6 time slot that is no longer an option.

We will have MATH 33B TUTORING and CS 32 / 33 TUTORING also starting up very soon. All of this will be posted on my door as well.

Engineer Student of the Year Award

Boeing and Inflight Inational are seeking entries for the Engineering Student of the Year Award.

Entries should include a 500 word summary and supporting material (could include new patents, documented applications that have been adopted by industry, or published papers or research that have won recognition from academic, professional orindustrial associations.) Entries will be judged by a panel of three distinguished former Boeing senior engineers Results announced at the Farnborough Airshow in July.

The deadline for entries is June 13, 2008.

Boeing will arrange free flights and accommodation for the winner of the award and an accompanying person to attend the Farnborough Airshow as a guest of Boeing.

Award presented as part of Flight's 100 th anniversary celebration at the show on July 15.

= MATH 32A AEW -- Mondays 12:00 - 1:50 and Wednesdays 1:00 - 1:50, BH Penthouse, with David.

= MATH 32B AEW -- Mondays and Wednesdays, 12:00 - 1:50, with Stella. Please check my door for temporary room location.

= MATH 33A AEW -- Please give me your schedules ASAP so we can arrange a time for your AEW with Regis. I only have 3 so far.

= CHEM 20B AEW -- Thursdays 10:00 - 11:50, BH Penthouse, with Eric.

= CHEM 30A AEW -- Tuesdays and Thursdays, 12:00 - 1:50, BH Penthouse, with Cesar.

= CS 31 AEW -- Please keep your schedules open on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5 - 6. We hope to start this AEW soon.

Academic Excellence Workshops for Spring Quarter

For those of you who have not sent in your requests, if you would like an Academic Excellence Workshop (AEW) for a core engineering course during the Spring quarter, please send me an Email with the following information:

Your available days and times to attend an AEW. This is not always the same as your class schedule. Many students have jobs, do research, participate in student clubs, and have other responsibilities. Do not send your class schedule just indicate your available times in the Email message

The course for which you want the AEW

Unless a minimum of 4 students request an AEW for a course and provide their availability, no plans will be made to schedule a workshop for it. Please Email your request for an AEW by Friday, 04/11/08.
